Naked man with gun in 15-hour standoff with police

"Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow," said Debbie Whitman, imitating the sound.

All day, she stayed inside her home a short walk away from the Westdale Place home where the suspected shooter barricaded himself. At one point, Whitman snapped photos of a sniper setting up on her porch.

About 7:30 p.m., a Greensboro police officer told her to go inside, turn off the lights and close the blinds, Whitman said. Officers were close to arresting the man.

"Get down on your knees! Get down on your knees!" Whitman heard them yell. "We didn't hear shots at all."

And so a day that began with gunfire and uncertainty ended peacefully.

About 7:40 p.m., the naked man walked onto the porch at his home at 421 Westdale Place and sat in his rocking chair. A police dog grabbed the man, who was able to escape and run back into his home. The High Point Police Department's Special Response Team ran inside and tackled the man, who resisted arrest, said Greensboro police Chief Ken Miller.

Lost And Found

This morning I opened the back of my son to get his lunch box and a few more pounds of crumpled paper and his lunch box, my hand met his black jacket, fleece-Columbia sports. The same jacket that has disappeared from our lives back in early October or not. The same jacket he returned to the music room to collect not 10 minutes after he left. The same jacket I phoned the parents of his friends about and why I personally searched through the school Lost and Found thrice.(BTW, the school donated all items in lost and found twice a year - once just after the winter holidays, a time just before the summer break.)

So where has the love of Frack jacket for my son - the one with his name written on it in two places - was for seven months? Because it really has not been to the Lost and Found....
